This summer needs to slow down for a few minutes. It's already mid-July?!
I wanted to make another 4th of July blog, like last year, but my mind's been filled with way too much anxiety to write a nostalgic entry. But happy belated birthday to you, blog. You're wonderful. (He's two years old, friends.)
Tonight's brief entry will be the cliff-notes version of what's going on in my life. Hopefully, I'll find some time in the coming days to fully dig into these happenings.
Much love,
Jono
Tonight's brief entry will be the cliff-notes version of what's going on in my life. Hopefully, I'll find some time in the coming days to fully dig into these happenings.
- Currently, I'm sitting on a VERY comfy bed at Georgia College & State University. I picked up another gig, but it has nothing to do with theatre. I'm working 2 full days of registration at Encore! Music Camps. (It's a family business; a week-long camp for middle school band students.) It sounds dorky, but this is it's 22nd year in existence. It's totally the shiz. Hey, it pays, what else can I say?
- Georgia Ensemble Theatre & Conservatory begins on Monday. I'm so excited about returning to this company. I've definitely made a family from these friends. If anyone EVER gets an opportunity to work with them, take it; you won't regret it! Although, the boss's kid is in my class this week, I'm kind of nervous.
- Last month, Elise and I taught at Arts Clayton. It was a great experience for both of us. There are PLENTY of stories to be told about these two weeks. And those stories can be summed up with one word: Mary.
- Zack comes home this week(!!!) Week 1 and Week 2 flew by because of weddings, funerals, friends in town, etc. But this last week has been arduous. I miss him so much and I know everyone else does too, so I'm happy he'll be back home. (But, at the same time, I hope he's enjoying his last few days in England! So jealous!)
- Speaking of funerals, my grandfather passed away two weeks ago. Now THAT was a long week. I foresee an entry about this soon. It wasn't just a gloomy week, it was a nightmare seeing him suffer so much on his way out. But the family is coping and my mom is in good spirits. A BIG thanks goes to everyone who called, texted, visited this week. I seriously have the best friends EVER!
- Andrew came to stay for a few days. This always makes me happy. This time, he brought season one of 24. I had never seen an episode of this show, but I'm LOVING it! A lot of my good, trustworthy friends had differing opinions on the series, so I was nervous about not liking it. But so far, so good. I'll definitely finish out the season. Seasons 2-8 though...we'll see...
- Cow Appreciation Day was ridiculous. Last year, our record was seven stops on our Chick-Fil-A tour. This year, we made it to TEN. Ten combo meals are sitting in our fridge waiting to be eaten. Well, actually make that about six combos. We gorged ourselves when we got home.
- Just now, I briefly fell asleep at my computer. It's 2:30am.
- This blog is a proud supporter of Team Creamy!
- I'm probably going to keep adding stuff to this list, until I write a new entry. Keep your eyes peeled...
Much love,Jono
