AWA Cosplay 2010

A few months ago, Zack asked if I would go to Anime Weekend Atlanta with him. He always supports me and his theatre pals by seeing our shows and going to our events, so I'm truly excited to be by his side for something he's very passionate about. Over the summer, he lent me an anime series called Neon Genesis Evangelion. It was my first anime. (Sure, I've seen an episode or two of Pokemon or Dragon Ball Z, but not an entire series of something.) I really enjoyed it. Actually, I enjoyed it so much that I watched the entire series twice. One particular episode, I watched about eight times.

Part of this convention is dressing up and meeting and greeting in costume (cosplay). He said that I might want to consider being Shinji Ikari, the main character from Evangelion. I didn't really need to consider it, I loved the character. So I ordered the cosplay when he was in town and it just came in today. Zack's going to be Kaworu Nagisa, another great character from the same series.

I'll definitely mess up my hair (or perhaps just wear that slightly longer wig that I own...) but I'm SUPER stoked about this convention. Aside from theatre, I think this will be my first convention ever. I'm looking forward to meeting a lot of new people, enjoying this new environment, and (most importantly) supporting and spending time with one of my absolute best friends. It's time to let out my inner-geek, ya know?
